Cam Richards combo’s the boy’s final at the East Coast Surfing Championships this past weekend to run away with the title of “ ESA Boys East Coast Champion”. Not only did he win the boys title, but Cam also claimed the hot wave title for the youth divisions. The hot wave is given out to the competitor who scores the highest wave score during the event. Cam posted a 9.5 ride in the semi final on his way to his big win. The waves were more than contestable in the chest to head hi range. Cam said they suited his style being that it was prominently lefts coming in he knew he just needed 2 good ones. Right off the buzzer he found 2 solid waves to basically seal the deal. Towards the end of the heat he managed to catch one more bomb and rip the bag out of it leaving his competitors hoping for a miracle. Cam is super stoked on his win and mentioned he couldn’t of had a better birthday present than this!
